where do they sell gemstone globes in the los angeles area?

Need help to identify gemstone globe - Kalifano? I have a gemstone / jewel globe and can't figure out who made it. I think it might be a Alexander Kalifano but I can't find any identifying logo or mark. It is 13" diameter globe, seperate stones for each US state, made around 1999, 4 leg table top stand, gold color stand, compass under globe on stand, stands about 19" high and 18" wide, weighs about 16 pounds total, and has blue lupis ocean.

Price drop TV what a rip off ( Gemstone Globe 1015 pm 26/06/08 on Price drop tv)? Did anybody order the Gemstone Globe in a prebid and if so did you bid still work and get it for a £1. Last night i out a pre bid of £15 in for the globes so i was safe. But it dropped to a £1 and they wiped my bid, what was strange is how did they all go in 3 seconds. The customer service is rubbish, its in india and they really dont have a single clue. I have proof of auction and i still persue it. Also i purchased 3 items five days apart and they all coem same day. Good you might think but i got charged £26 p and p but they all came together.. Qvc in the same items would have charged £14 but if it was all coming together i would have got it half price. Ideal World work same way. If with qvc you order 4 items say £8, £7, £6, £6 p and p you would be additional p and p half price. I think the odd megadrop ius genuine, i know the gemstone globe one wasnt but i will get it.

What is the best way to ship something overseas? I live in California. My boyfriend lives in Saudi Arabia, and I bought him one of those GORGEOUS gemstone, lapus lazuli globes. It weighs twenty pounds. I want to ship it to him, and I obtained a price quote from the DHL website and it costs like $263.00!!!!!!!! My goodnes, all that it is is a damned globe! I could see it if it were like a bicycle or something. But this is ridiculous. *allforasia*~ PLEASE tell me what shipping service you used!!!!!!!!!

what is a good way to make a fake 'gem' for a craft project? I need to make a 'ruby' a little bigger than a chicken egg, but it can be a half globe or an oval, doesn't have to be an egg shape, for a craft project. Needs to be out of something soft enough to carve into but hard enough to feel hard to the touch, no jello like stuff. Ideally it would be atleast semi transparent so it have that gem look to it. Any suggestions on how to make such a faux gemstone?

What do you think of this gift for my Husband to be? Our wedding is a little over 2 weeks away, and I'm getting VERY excited!! I would like to give him a gift, after the wedding, when we are alone (at last), that would be something sentimental that he'd keep forever. I am planning already to print my (self-written) vows on some nice paper, and give him that to keep. The other idea I had was this: FH and I are both avid travelers, and have made it our mission to see as much of the world as we can, with each other. We've already done quite a bit, and it's very important to us. Or is it too cheesy? It's not large - the whole thing is about 8" or 9" square. It would probably wind up on his desk at work. :D

Would you give him the World? My husband has showered me with many gifts. We celebrated our second wedding anniversary recently. It had been my idea to buy him the world....so to speak. I searched for a Gemstone globe, everywhere...none to be found. Found one at an antique store close by, the day before our day....Paid a meager 50 bucks for it, but the idea was from the heart. I polished it to look brand new, and the gems which were embedded in the shapes of the countries, looked priceless...I wrapped it, placed a card in it, and presented it to him at the place where we took our vows. in the card i wrote...You have given me the world, now and forever, I want to give it back to you. He gave me 2 carats worth of diamonds. In a few days he told me my gift was Cheezy, not to mention that it came from a second hand store....I could have at least bought him something he could use...What do you think?
