Why do world maps not reflect recent landscape changes?
It is no secret that natural disasters are increasing around the world. Land and homes are being destroyed at an alarming rate. So why have maps not changed to reflect the permanent changes on landscape caused by global warming disasters?

- Has not happened so there is not any reason too redraw maps. A change of one foot is insignifigant, too redraw map requires events on the scale of volcanoes creating new islands or meteorite strikes the size of Hudson's bay in northern Canada.
- It takes time for map makers to get around to it. Somebody has to go to each site, survey it, have the survey checked, make a preliminary map, add the buildings and road symbols, etc. Takes a year or more, even for the popular places.
- they only update their maps yearly....
