How cam I mimic aqua globes?

I would like to have an at home remedy for automatically watering plants for a few days. Iheard of using water bottles but I think that looks to ugly. I'd prefer for it to be cheap, easy to make or very easy to buy and something that is not cheesy. Do you have any ideas? Thank you for your suggestions!!

1. Sometimes an all plastic hollow child's toy will work. just cut your own hole. Kind of nice if you find the right one.
