- palestinE is techincally not a country but a territory west of Israel.
- What is referred to as "Palestine" is currently displayed on world maps as a shaded area that is labeled "Occupied." No doubt about that. I have a vintage World Atlas from pre-1948 that shows, big as life, the nation of "Palestine." There it is...no ifs, ands, or buts.

- Since 1948 it was removed. If you look at War Records maps of the period 1939-1945- Gaza is clearly marked inside Palestine.
- Palestine is not a sovereign country, that's why.
- It might be a territory as opposed to a country as slapping penguin states but Western Sahara is classed as a territory and that features on all the maps i have recently looked at. They are recognised by the UN though, unlike Palestine, as Igi has already said.
- Search YAHOO for PALESTINE MAP , then go for choice No 2, then scrol for Palestine under British mandate! That will show you the whole area which is now Know wrongly by Israel!!!
- Palestine existed, it has been transformed into Israel.
- There was an area called the Mandate of Palestine between 1918 and 1948 and this was ruled by the British government for the Leagueof Nations and United Nations. This covered the area now called Jordan (78%) and Israel (22%). There was never an independent country called Palestine.
