How come the dark knight got snubbed by the golden globes?
So as you all can see on the front page of yahoo that the dark knight got dissed by the golden globes. The only nomination that they got was for Heath Ledgers supporting role as the Joker. Now does this mean the Dark Knight has no chance at being nominated at the 2009 Oscars? I really am dissapointed in the people that did not nominate this movie for best picture and best director for the golden globes and I'm pretty sure alot of others are furious as well.

- im not furious, and usually these type of awards dont tend to nominate the big block busters like this unless its an absolute epic like lord of the rings =| heath ledger deserves to win though, not just for the perfermance but for how much he put into it, plus it'll be a nice way to commemorate him
- At least heath was nomintaed.
- The Golden Globes are not an accurate predictor for the Academy Awards. Last year many of the winners and nominees did not match. Also, the Golden Globes are hosted by the Hollywood Foreign Press, the key word being foreign. Foreign critics might not have loved Dark Knight the way American critics did. Also, consider that Dark Knight made more money domestically than it did at the foreign box office. It is fair to say that Dark Knight was more appreciated in the US. Also, the Hollywood Foreign Press never really nominates action films even if they are dramas for Best Picture. They tend to stick to traditional Dramas, and Lord of the Rings and Titanic were not really action films.
- Don't use the Golden Globes as an indicator for the Oscars. The Oscars make more sensible nominations, just look at James Franco for example, getting nominated for the comedy instead of the drama. The Dark Knight will get nominated at the Oscars for sure. If you are just looking for The Dark Knight this award season, just ignore the GG's and wait for the AA's.
- Because liberals don't like the message of the movie, which states that evil is real and can't be reasoned with, it must be defeated. Expect the same at the Oscars. Heath will deservedly get his though.
- Lol every year Ive seen the Golden Globe nominations and most of them are for those "underground movies" that nobody has ever seen or heard of.Just like last year that black and white cartoon that ive never heard anyone talk about. I guess they thought that The Dark Knight was too mainstream to be nominated. People with this viewpoint should never be allowed to be involved in the Golden Globes.
- dark knight should win oscar best picture best director and best supporting actor don't give a fuck about golden globe
- well, it should get nominated for best picture and for best director... and i also think [even tho he wasn't the lead] Heath should be nominated for Best Actor in a Lead Role. i'm not furious, i just think it should be done. but maybe it wasn't nominated because of Christian Bale's ridiculously annoying Batman voice. [seriously, it's like "Hi, I'm Batman, and I've got a head cold." that's what he sounds like even tho he's only doing it to disguise his voice. still, it bothered be thru the whole movie] i'm not so sure that nominations are over entirely, so keep looking out for any new nominations. :3
