Why do snow globes eventually develop air bubbles/pockets?
I have snow globes that some contain water and some contain oil and they all eventually develop air bubbles/air pockets. They weren't this way when I purchased them. As far as I can tell there isn't any way for air to leak into them.

- Air doesn't leak in, the liquid leaks out. Even though it looks airtight, where there's a seam, even in plastic, then tiny amounts of the liquid will eventually seep out. Gravity, pressure, natural osmosis and probably even evaporation, are all playing a part. The amount of liquid is so tiny, you won't notice, until an air bubble has formed. I would imagine that once an air bubble has appeared, then it will only accelerate the amount of seepage. Shaking it is also bound to be a factor in speeding up the process.
