Globes (skate shoes)?

Ive owned a pair of globes in the past (i forget which model, they were mostly white with little grey globe symbols on the heel) and they were pretty damn good, if not a bit chunky. I bought a pair of generic black and white vans, absolute crap, and im thinking of either going to pauls and buying 2 pairs of appleyards for 100 bucks or getting a pair of considerably better globe tb tajs for $80. my question is which would be the smarter buy? i realise the appleyards are better value, but ive known people who've owned them and they have deteriorated pretty quickly. id probably coat them with shoo goo either way, but id like them to last at least a LITTLE while on their own.

1. here another options to as least try once... go to walmart (yes walmart get over it) and buy a pair or airspeeds... they are $20 -$25 and have good grip, comfortably as hell, and last pretty long... if you dont like them or you think they wear out to fast you only put up $20 or so then you can try the appleyards... im just saying its worth a shot... also check out this skate vid from my friends youtube page he's pretty sick.. check out his other vids and subscribe if you like... http://www.youtube.com/user/zach01313 ... and if you ever need tip tricks or a tip trick video you can message him...
