What do you think of this gift for my Husband to be?

Our wedding is a little over 2 weeks away, and I'm getting VERY excited!! I would like to give him a gift, after the wedding, when we are alone (at last), that would be something sentimental that he'd keep forever. I am planning already to print my (self-written) vows on some nice paper, and give him that to keep. The other idea I had was this: FH and I are both avid travelers, and have made it our mission to see as much of the world as we can, with each other. We've already done quite a bit, and it's very important to us. My gift idea was to get him one of those gemstone inlaid globes http://www.1worldglobes.com/1WorldGlobes/GemstoneGlobes/blkopal46siltri.html and on the brass ring that goes around it, have one of our favorite quotes, from Whitman, "I give you my love more precious than money, I give you myself before preaching or law; Will you give me yourself, will you come travel with me? Shall we stick by each other as long as we live?" And then to have our wedding date after that. This will probably cover the circumference of the brass ring. What do you think? Is this a good gift? Or is it too cheesy? It's not large - the whole thing is about 8" or 9" square. It would probably wind up on his desk at work. :D

2. Wedding gifts are supposed to be cheesy / sentimental , emotive etc.. Not sure if a big globe is the best unless your home has a library room or similar - But really like the quote and connection between world travels and your wedding.
3. Both the wedding vows and globe are really good ideas. Just a word of caution though: your husband might not be as sentimental as you. Don't take it personally if you find the wedding vows in a stack of his old electric bills a few years from now. Or if he puts the globe in a corner of a shelf and lets it get dusty. That's just the way (a lot of) men are! Congrats on your wedding. Have a blast!

9. That's an amazing gift!! My husband and I travel a ton too, I wish I'd thought of something like that! Also an idea, they have these world maps you can buy online. They're very fancy paper with nice framing etc., and you get these little colored push pins to mark where the two of you have traveled together.
