Wholesale Globes

Has anyone ever opened one of them Tesla Coil Globes and turned it on without the globe?

If so, what happened?

1. It would not be a safe idea - it would expose dangerous voltage which little curious fingers may not be able to stay away from! Also it would remove any protective vacuum or gases and would probably overheat and burn out.
