Why are there big sun dials and globes all around between 40th & 41st st and 7th ave and brodaway?

They look so messy too, like someone just dropped them there. DO they annoy anyone else?

2. I know what you are talking about.Its by the garment district. Im always wondering too. Maybe its just decoration but im not sure.haha. and they don't annoy me. they do take away space.
